I’m an award-winning freelance journalist based in Denver, Colorado. Before striking out on my own, I spent more than seven years as a magazine editor at 5280, Denver’s city magazine. In 2016, Folio: honored me as a 30 Under 30, calling me a “young journalist to watch.” I was named a 2015 Livingston Award for Young Journalists finalist for “The Girls Next Door,” an exposé on the sex trafficking of minors in Colorado.

I’m a member of the North American Travel Journalists Association and the American Society of Journalists and Authors.

Though my curiosities are broad, I focus my long-form reporting on social justice, mental health, criminal justice, and health equity issues. My magazine feature on the high rate of suicide in the western United States was anthologized in Mile High Stories.

My travel and adventure work stems from my personal wanderlust. To me, there is no better way to satisfy a curious mind than to explore the world—and then share your experiences with others. “Try new things” is a personal motto, and I’m always looking to test my limits and explore new-to-me places, both near and far. Most of my free time is spent researching and daydreaming about where to visit next.

When I’m not working, you can find me adventuring in the Rocky Mountains—or wherever my travels take me—or curled up with a book and a cup of tea.
